Platitudes may serve you well,
With piety and cheer,
I’m much too bitter for that crap,
Let me greedily besmear.
Be grateful every morning,
With your herbal tea,
I’ll take cake and snipping,
Solitude and revelry.
You sigh with affirmations,
Kids say the darnest things,
I roll my eyes with furor,
And flap my curmudgeonly wings.
