I am a queer writer, poet, cartoonist, and artist who spent much of my childhood in Iran in the 1960s, returning to the U.S. at age 16 in 1971. I still sometimes dream in Persian.
Behrouz Gets Lucky is my first novel; Behrouz Gets Lucky is a romantic, literary, kinky, and political novel about two older San Francisco queers – a butch dyke gardener named Lucky who grew up in Ohio, and a genderqueer librarian named Behrouz who grew up in Iran. A novella, The Solstice Gift: Behrouz and Lucky on the Longest Night was released by Stoic Press in December, 2019.
I co-edited, drew, and wrote the biographies for the Butch Lesbians of the 20s, 30s, and 40s Coloring Book and the Butch Lesbians of the 50s, 60s, and 70s Coloring Books. My latest release, Resistance: The LGBT Fight Against Fascism in WWII. (Stacked Deck Press), was a finalist for a 2019 Lambda Award. These books can be bought through my store, Whippersnapped on Etsy.
I just finished two sequels of Behrouz and Lucky’s shenanigans titled Doily Is My Safeword and Strawmansion: the Erotic Adventures of Behrouz and Lucky; publication dates to be released at a later date.
